Entry Fee $75 Draft Position Draft position selection order is determined by money lost/won the previous year ... highest loser selecting first through highest winner selecting last. For the 2012 draft the draft position selection order is Ikey Fox Gabes Jack Andy Sobo Hans Al Willo Draft position selections began on November 28, 2011. For the 2012 draft the selection order will be: Ikey Fox Gabes Jack Sobo Willo Al Hans Andy The Draft The draft will begin on 12/26. Starting rosters must be submitted by midnight the night before the Hyundai Tournament of Champions begins (Hyundau begins on 1/5; starting rosters should be set by midnight, Wednesday, 1/4 CST). If you fail to submit your starting line up on time, the first seven golfers you drafted will be set as your starting seven for the first week. Just like all other drafts, we'll draft 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,1... The Players Each team will consist of 12 players. Seven players will be active and five will be considered caddies. The Field You are free to draft anyone. The Game/What We'll Track Player's tournament finishes, that's all. The lower the better. Almost every week during the season there is at least one PGA tournament event, and sometimes two. You will get credit for the finishing position of the best five of your starting seven golfers for the week. It doesn't matter if it's one tournament or two, medal play or match play. In medal play, points are awarded according to place of finish. So, first place is worth 1 point, second place worth 2 and so on up to a maximum of 70 points. Ties will be counted as listed (i.e., a tie for third place is worth 3 points). Starters who are cut or don't play in a tournament (DNP) are assigned a score of 70 for the week. In match play, points are awarded as follows: Winner gets 1 point Loser of final gets 2 points Two losers of the semis get 4 points (unless they have a match that determines the winner, then it would be 3 and 4) Four losers of the quarterfinals get 8 points Eight third round losers get 16 points Sixteen second round losers get 32 points Thirty two first round losers get 64 points Players can only earn points when in starter status on your team. If you do not have at least five golfers who earn 70 points or less in any particular week, then your score for the week will be filled out with 70s for each unfilled spot. A few tournaments each year will have less than 70 golfers invited. If your golfer is invited to such a tournament and gets cut, or withdraws after he has started play, that player will get a number not higher than the number of golfers invited (i.e., if 30 players are invited and a player withdraws of gets cut, he would be assigned a 30 for that tournament). If a player is invited but does not attend, or withdraws before teeing off for the first round, he will be assigned a DNP (a 70 for scoring purposes). There may be a few tournaments in which players may not have been cut or may not have withdrawn, but they may not play in the final round/s because of weather or for some other reason (e.g., the dreaded MDF). If the PGA awards these players money, they will not be considered cut, and therefore, these players could possibly be assigned a finishing number lower than 70. The Commissioner will assign the finishing number to those golfers if the PGA site does not. So, if you have the winner of a tournament, the fifth place finisher, the forty eighth place finisher, and a bunch of stiffs and no shows with your other seven starters, then for that week you get 1+5+48+70+70 points (total of 194 points). Lowest number of team points will determine year end ranking. The Season The season will begin with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions on 1/5 and will conclude with the finish of the Tour Championship on 9/23. Caddy Moves You are allowed an unlimited number of caddy moves throughout the season. Caddy moves will be $1/each. Caddy/starter moves will only be allowed after a tournament ends and before the next tournament begins. Deadlines will be midnight, central time, the night before a tournament begins. Please use the roster administration site to set your starting lineup each week. Sometimes the posted PGA field is unreliable. Sometimes owners are not able to post their lineup due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, if a team has less than 7 starters who play in any week, but has non-starters who play, then the playing non-starters will be added to the starting lineup in increasing draft order, replacing non-playing starters in decreasing draft order until the team has 7 playing starters or until the available non-playing starters are exhausted. Such substitutions will be made by the commissioner if and when he is notified of the need by any of the owners, up until Noon, CT, on the Saturday of a tournament. Do not abuse this rule or it could be revoked for a particular owner at any time at the discretion of the commissioner. Waiver Moves Each owner will start the season with three waiver moves. You may also trade for waiver moves. Waiver moves are optional, but will cost you $10 each time you make one. You may waive a starter or a caddy and pick up a player from the undrafted pool. Each waiver period will conclude at midnight on Sunday of each week. Waiver moves can be submitted at any time during the week, but they only become effective at midnight Sunday of each week. Normally, the tournament held over the Labor Day weekend ends on Labor Day Monday. The waiver move deadline for that tournament, if it ends on Labor Day Monday, will be Monday midnight (or Tuesday midnight, if delayed until a Tuesday finish). In addition, if any of the later season tournaments that determine final positioning for the various Fed Ex playoffs are delayed until a Monday finish (usually because of weather), then the waiver move deadline will be Monday midnight. If a tournament is not finished on a Sunday and is pushed into the next week for some reason (usually, but not necessarily, because of weather), and you claim a golfer who is playing in that tournament, the claimed golfer does not enter your roster until the conclusion of that tournament. Waived players are dumped back into the open pool and become eligible for drafting by anyone (including the person who originally dumped them) during the next waiver period. If two players attempt to pick up the same new player, the guy who is behind in the standings gets the new player. If two or more guys are tied in the standings and ask for the same new player, the guy waiving the higher drafted player gets the new player. "Standings" means the posted standings at that time, which do not include the current tournament(s). If there is still some question as to who gets the new player, the Commissioner will flip a coin. The Commissioner's decisions are final! You may wish to submit a list of players you wish to acquire via waiver in the event the player you want ends up on another team. Any listed players must be from the open pool. When you waive a player, your team still retains any points earned by the waived player from the time he was on your team. Trades Trades will be allowed but not until the draft is completed. Trades will cost each party $5 per traded player. Each team must have twelve players after a trade with seven active players. Trades can be made at any time other than during a tournament. Final trade deadline will be midnight, 8/12 (conclusion of the PGA Championship). An owner trading a player will retain any points earned by that player while on the team. Trades may also include waiver moves. Pay outs Based on lowest team points at the end of the season: 30% for first place 20% for second place 15% for third place 10% for fourth place 5% for fifth place 20% of the pot will go to the winners of the Grand Slam events (i.e., 5% to the winners of The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship). Grand Slam pay outs will be treated like skins. That means if an undrafted player or caddy wins a Grand Slam event, then the Grand Slam skin rolls over to the next Grand Slam event. Any Grand Slam skins not won at the conclusion of the PGA Championship will be distributed to the first through fifth place finishers according to percentage pay outs. You do not have to commit to playing the weekly skins games to qualify for Grand Slam skins action. Weekly Skins Action A CyberZahm tradition! Weekly skins action will cost each owner $3/week. If the winner of a tournament is on your team in starter status when they win a tournament, then you win the weekly skin. If a weekly tournament winner is in the open pool, or in caddy status on a team, the skins pot rolls over to the next tournament, and so on. Skins action will begin with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions event which starts on 1/5/12. There will be only one weekly skins game each week. There will be four weeks with two tournaments being played. The weekly skins action will be on - the WGC Match Play event on 2/22 - the WGC on 3/8 - the True South Classic on 7/19 (see note below) - the WGC on 8/2 Note: The British Open and the True South Classic take place the same week. A Grand Slam skin rides on the outcome of the British and a weekly skin rides on the outcome of the True South Classic. There will be no weekly skins action on the Grand Slam events. As stated above, however, these events will have a Grand Slam skin riding on the outcome. Side Bets Optional and encouraged! Each player is responsible for tracking their own side wagers before the season begins. Once the season begins, send me a list of your bets and I will verify and post. The Commissioner is designating Al as the creator of Grand Slam side bets (and Sobo as tracker of results). The Commissioner ME! The rules mean what I mean them to say and not necessarily what you think they mean. Updates I'll try to post them after each tournament, but no promises.
