2023 PGA by Hans Day 1 Hello Golf fans - we have a tie at the top after round 1. The Dimpled Balls (Al) and the Ace Holes (my boys) both finished at 351 and split the daily prize. As for golf, I was very surprised to see John Rahm shoot 76 and Sunjae Im shoot 80! Both were the high scores on their respective teams - very disappointing for both Sobo and Fox. The course is clearly the winner so far. TOUGH rough! I'll try to watch more of the action today to add commentary to the scores. If Al or anyone else would like to add your thoughts, please do so! Day 2 Very Interesting.... Daily honors go to Ikey's Heroes, with Andy's Hookers taking second. Al and Hans have the two day total lead, but expect that to change. Because.... Al has all 6 players still going. Hans has only 3. After two days below shows the number of players alive for each team. First, the pool number followed by the complete team results for the year long challenge: Gabes 3 9 Sobo 1 4 Hans 3 6 Al 6 7 Andy 2 2 Jack 2 2 Fox 3 6 Ikey 5 6 Mags 2 2 Prep 4 6 For this pool, Al and Ikey have the advantage. As for the golf, I am surprised to see Burns shoot 80 today. Among the big names already heading home are Im, Fitzpatrick Cam Young, and last week's winner, Jason Day. Scottie Scheffler looks to be in control.... at least as control as you can be on a course this tough with rain and wind all around. Speaking of the weather, I understand that tomorrow's weather will be very challenging. It was interesting to see both Spieth and Thomas make clutch putts on their final hole to make the cut on the number. The LIV players are doing relatively well. Among those in contention, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Phil. You can bet they are playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulders.... while spending alot of time at the bank depositing their Saudi earnings. Once again, additional commentary is appreciated. Hans Day 3 Moving Day at Oak Hill was a great day for ducks! I'll bet the course took on 3 inches of rain and play never stopped! That is a testament to the ground crew. As for the play, I'm sure Gabes has mixed emotions tonight. On one hand, his Foreskins took low for the day. On the other hand, He left Jaeger and Cole, both currently T10, on the bench, and his perennial pick, Brooks Koepka is leading. Al's Dimpled Balls took second place on day 2. He could have started ML Lee, currently T10... but no, he is on the bench. Ikey's player Moore shot a smooth 78 to set the high for the day. That is the score posted for every player that was cut. With one round remaining, The Dimpled Balls lead by 3 over the Foreskins, followed by the Heroes and Holes another 3 shots back. The weather forecast for Sunday is sunny and warmer. The players, caddies and fans need a break from the steady and sometimes heavy rain on Saturday. Enjoy the final round! Hans: I noticed an anomaly regarding Gabes' player Hojgaard. Small mistake, you gave him 76 for day one when he had 75.. And you do have him properly highlighted in yellow, designating that he was cut. But then you gave him a score of 73 for round number 3, not the 78 that he should have been assigned. Albert Hojgaard was not cut. His brother was cut, but he wasn’t. Today he was +3. Not sure what he did yesterday, but he was not cut! Gabes Yes, I missed this one. Two Hojgaard's?? Nicolai is Gabes player, not Rasmus. Who names their son Rasmus?? I have corrected the scores for Nicolai. Gabes now wins Day 2, Al takes second, and Andy loses out on a $10.50 payout. Gabes has a 4 shot lead on Al going into Round 3, and a 10 shot lead over Ikey and me . Day 4 All hail Brooks Koepka. He obviously played nearly flawless golf and deserved to win. The overall winner is Gabes. Congrats to the Foreskins. Their total winnings for this major are $175 (less the $35 entry fee) Only two shots back were Al's Dimpled Balls, followed by Ikey's Heroes another two shots back for third money. The biggest surprise comes from the final round daily payout. Prep's Black Flies took top honors, followed by Ikey. I have attached another spreadsheet. This one gives the payout through the first two majors. At the halfway point, four of the teams are Positive earnings, with six teams contributing... so far. As for the overall Major Skin winnings - since no one has Koepka, I think the cash should go to the second place finisher. Oh, wait.... there was a tie for second. And both players, Scheffler and Hovland are members of the Ace Holes. Whatta you say Gabes??? The US Open is only 4 weeks from now, competing at the LA Country Club. This assures 4 days of prime time viewing! Let me know if I messed up the Hojgaard score, or anything else. Other commentary from those of you who watched would be appreciated. I can only imagine the fans went nuts when the PGA Club pro made an Ace... I'll be back in 4 weeks.
