Days 1 and 2

First two rounds finally done… and my team sucked so bad that I lost interest.  But this is my job, I have to do it, so here we go….
 
Jack took a very tight day 1, edging both Fox and Mags by a single stroke.  Let’s hear it for Harry English, who Jack “doubled down” on, and made the cut with a snazzy 70-71.  I should have let him take Jimmy Walker, who was 11 over par.
 
Ikey improved by 17 strokes over day 1 to win day 2, edging Andy by a stroke, but only passing me and Willo tourney to date.
 
Fox leads overall by 3, 4 teams 3 behind, 3 more within another 3.  Willo and I suck

Good for DJ.... as I loved watching Paulina walk up the stairs with him to the scorer’s tent, tugging that super slinky tight white dress.  Wayne and Janet, I am sure, are very proud of their little girl. 
 
Glad that the ball movement penalty on #5 did not come into play for the championship… would have been terrible to see DJ carry those scars forward, to add to the grounding of the club at 72nd at PGA at Whistling Straits and the 3 putt on 72nd last year at Chambers Bay.  Lowry was very accommodating, shooting a closing 76 and making 3 straight bogeys on 15 thru 17.  And could Lee Westwood suck any more on Sundays at Majors?  Hardly seemed that he was in the penultimate group…. I guess going 8 over on the front 9 assures that u are a non-factor for the balance of the day. 
 
Andy carried the day on Day 3, edging Mags by a single stroke.  That put both Andy and Mags in great position for the overall win…. But Fox and Hans both had very strong Day 4’s.  Hans came out of the blue with an outstanding 3 stroke win over Fox, picking up 9 and 10 on Mags and Andy, zooming into #2 overall.  But not quite good enough to catch Fox, whose last day 210 was second best for the day, and good enough to earn the overall victory by 4 strokes.  Mags and Andy held off Gabes, Sobo and Ikey to split third place between them. 
 
Willo and I tied for last, 50 strokes behind the leaders.  It was the most uneventful of Majors for me, given the rain delays and having 4 of my 5 players out.  But it was a great Father’s Day w/ the entire family convening at my sister Angela’s home w/ picture perfect weather.  My Dad joined us, along w/ my Mom.  My son came in w/ his lovely lady friend who we hope/trust will be his wife someday.  And Angela lives down the street from my in-laws, so we got to see both Dad’s (Mine and Florence’s) as Albert visited his Dad and both Grand-Dads.  Golf roto was a back burner item.
 
Hope all had a great day with family and loved ones.
