2013 PGA Day 1 Well, classic Lefty. 3 over after 4, he battles back to one under by 18. But he tries a miracle shot from the trees, makes DB, and his 71 leaves me w a 346 total, one out of today's money. Fox's boys led the way with a two shot victory over Mags, whose boys beat me by one, and Sobo and Hans by 2. So 5 teams w/in 4 shots of the lead... with Gabes' duckbags starting out, once again, in the cellar as they did in the BO before their comeback. Day 2 Wow! With soft conditions and no wind, It has become a birdie fest at Oak Hill. The cut # was +3.... Hell, some thought that might have been the winning score before the Tourney started! Webb Simpson ties the competitive course record early in the day w/ 64.... And Dufner beats it with a record setting 63 later in the day. Red numbers everywhere... except for the supposed Top 2 in the World, Tiger and Phil. Both make the cut... but at +1 and +2 respectively, hard to believe that either will be a factor on Sunday. Along w/ Webb leading the way, I got solid across the board scoring with 3 other scores in the 60's and Phil's 71 being the worst of my top 5. My 338 was 2 better than jack's boys, led by the sizzling Dufner and ably supported by Merrick and Stenson. Speaking about Dufner... did anyone catch the shot of his wife walking w/ ol' Duf after his round? Didn't get a close up but, man, she looked like a real slut bomb! Super tight jeans, tight tank top... might be worth seeing Jason win just to see her do up some air time on Sunday. On the down side... Gabes is sniffing Andy's ass from the basement.... And Andy is too far from Sobo to sniff the Polish sausage that he had for dinner last night. And Gabes and Andy only have 3 golfers going on the weekend while needing to post 4 scores... I trust Andy will enjoy watching the tourney live without worrying about his team's performance. Gabes can start studying for next year's draft. I hold a 5 stroke lead on Fox... but Fox has all 6 golfers going on the weekend, I only have 5 . Onloy 8 strokes between Mags at third and Sobo I 8th, and Sobo is the only of that 6 man cluster that has 5 going on the weekend. The story lines and players aren't as dramatic as the BO weekend... but interesting nonetheless. Can Dufner hold on for his first major? Will Kuchar, or Stenson, or Stricker finally break thru for THEIR first if Dufner falters? Can Adam Scott or Justin Rose win his second major of the year and wrest POY honors away from Tiger? Or does Tiger FINALLY stage a come from behind win? PS from Andy: Players who teed off early were at a tremendous disadvantage with heavy rain factoring into their rounds until the sun came out at about noon, just in time for later groups to head out to nice soft greens. Everybody is hitting 3 woods off the tees. Landing in the fairway and then throwing darts into the pins. Par threes are playing tough with the exception of number 6 and I don't think there have been more than a couple eagles on the par 5's. Still nobody has ever hit #13 in two, but rumor has it that they will have the tee box up on Saturday, so maybe.... I heard from one of the locals that the PGA had them cut the rough back on Wednesday night. They said that they didn't care how Oak Hill set up the front nine, but they wanted the back nine at a level where somebody could make a run from behind on Sunday.... Fun tournament with lots of hotties in attendance...... Who's Woody Austin's Caddy next week? More fun today..... Day 3 My schmucks had the Day 2 lead, but each and every one of my 5 remaining golfers sucked moose (staying w/ the Maine theme) and we posted the second worst score of the day. And beating Gabes' a-holes by 18 strokes was no consolation, believe me. Fox's boys smoked the field on Day 3, winning the day by 3 strokes over Hans and Sobo, who edged Willo and Jack. So Fox holds a commanding 8 stroke lead and, with 6 golfers going, will be damn near impossible to beat. But the race for second and third is amazingly close. I sit in 2nd at 977; Sobo is in 7th at 984. So six teams within 7 strokes, vying for two of the top three slots. As for the tourney... I don't see Furyk hanging on. Dufner looks solid hitting the ball... but will that putting hold up? Adam Scott shot himself in the foot w/ DB on 16 and a bushel full of missed birdie putts. I think Henrik Stenson has been very solid for a long time in major events... maybe this is his time to break through? Rooting for Scott but Stenson is my pick. Amazing how much tougher the course played today.... Or was there a lot of gagging going on? DJ did shoot 65.... Is he just too dumb to feel the pressure? But not too dumb to be laying the lumber to Gretzky's daughter! Have u checked her out? Prettier than her Mom, and quite a sexy little thing. Day 4 Fox smoked the field on Day 4, finishing first overall.. And jack smoked the balance of the field to finish second on Day 4 and second overall... plus boasts the winner, Jason Dufner and his buxom bodacious wife. Smoking! And Willo holds off Mags plus a handful of others to finish third overall. Sobo will update all the numbers... It has been fun... c u all next year at the Masters.
