PGA 2012
Albert's Recaps

Day 1
I did not see any of today’s action, so all I can do is report the scores. My team rode the duo of Petterson/Ogilvy (66/68) and Hans’ boys were led by McIlroy/Scott (67/68)… and togther we tied for low score of the day, 2 ahead oh Gabes. 8 teams are bunched within 10 strokes on Day 1… with Willo’s team enjoying the scenery on Kiawah Island, and not playing much golf.

Most important day of the tourney for us is Friday… cut day. You can’t win it on Fri, but you sure can lose it, and you want at least 4 boys teeing it up on Sat to have a chance.

Day 2
Wow, what a bloodbath, except they were bleeding black, not red, at the PGA Day 2. Sobo’s DA Points seemed to post the high number of the day… a nifty 87…. But Pyan Palmer’s 86 was not far behind, and plenty of scores in the 80’s and high 70’s.

But somehow, Vijay Singh of my Dimpled Balls managed a 69 (only sub 70 round of the day). Phil tied Woods and Poulter for second best round of the day, 71, and that helped the Balls take Day 2 honors. Hans team edged Fox for second place honors for the day.

More importantly for Hans, all his boys made the cut and will be teeing it up over the weekend. No one else has more than 4 players going (Gabes, Al, Andy, Fox and Ikey). So those 5 teams will have little or no margin for error as all our scores will count as Hans throws away his worst two. Despite my lead at this point, he will be nearly impossibloe to beat and the 5 of us are playing for second and third place money.

As for Sobo, Jack and Ikey… enjoy pre-season football this weekend.

Hans replies: Al - it's way too early for a concession speech, but I do like my chances. The real intrique will be which player ends up on top. Gotta like the way Tiger is playing. My top two, McIlroy and Scott may do better from behind. For sure Scott wasnt comfortable with the pressure of the lead at The Open. This is an interesting course and location. great TV watching. Hans

Final
Yawn…… oh, is the tourney over? The excitement ended with the rain yesterday, and today’s event had no juice. As predicted, Hans smoked the field. The only excitement… and controversy… was centered around the battle for second and third. The DB’s crashed and burned in grand style, as Vijay sunk like a fucking rock on Sunday, going from 6 under to 3 over in his 28 holes. But we still would have finished second if it were not for a bullshit ruling on Petterson on the first hole, assessing a two stroke penalty for brushing a loose leaf on his backswing. During a tourney when you could ground your club in the bunkers!
