PGA 2010 Courtesy of Albert Day 1 OK, on Day 2 we can post Day 1 scores. Jack an easy winner over Fox, who slides in front of a close pack all in the hunt. More tomorrow. Day 2 Jack edged Fox day 1, and Fox returned the favor Day 2. And as you might imagine, they have built a nice lead on #3 Sobo, who leads by one over my boys. I did not give Hans the kiss of death this event by assuring that his team could not miss (I loved that group for the British Open). So hans cannot blame me for jinxing his boys... as he, Andy and Mags wallow down at the bottom. Gabes hangs on the fringes of contention. No one has all six golfers going on the weekend. Jack and Fox have 5. As does Sobo. I and Andy have 4. Mags, Hans and Gabes have 3. Mags got hoses, having all three of his cut players miss the cut by ONE stroke at 147. Can someone w/ 3 repeat Gabes' magic from the BO? I'm betting against it. For those impressed w/ Jack's first two days... it could have been much better! He started Cabrera, who was +5. His first two alternates were Bubba Watson and JB Holmes, who combined for -11 first two days. Day 3 Jack wins Day 3... and Sobo edges me and Fox for second. My boys have fallen short of $$$ slots each day. So I will have to bank on Watney to take it to the goal line and grab a major skin. Day 4 We've already seen some of the post-mortems. Watney pulls a Dustin Johnson and can't break 80 in the final round of a Major with a three stroke lead. Dustin Johnson pulls a Roberto deVincenzo and has a penalty on the 72nd hole which precludes him from playing in a playoff. That after missing a 7 foot putt that, at that time, would have seemingly won him the event. Luckily he is as dumb as a snake and it might take till Wed to get over his bonehead moves. (He said he got over his Rd 4 82 at US Open by Monday). Watney is a little more cerebral, and could be damaged for life. Jack didn't have Bubba Watson active so probably was pleased to see him hack up the 75th hole. And with Kaymer not active, I guess we have 4 major skins going in next year's Master... assuming there are off-season carry overs. Gabes? Jack didn't need Bubba or JB Holmes, and smoked the field on Day 4. Mags and Hans had solid days and tied for second, nipping Andy by 1. Sobo was ready to be taken for third place w/ DJ's two stroke penalty but in addition to Watney's 81, Overton posted a fat 79. So despite Petterson/Villegas playing well, Sobo edges me for third. All numbers below for Sobo to post. Full sheet attached. See you all next spring at Augusta.
