Albert's notes: Day 1 Tiger misses a gimmee (by MY standards :-) ) on 17 then bogeys 18 with a suck-ass chip from behind the green. Ogilivy bogeys 17 and 18. Zack bogeys 18. And my dimpled Balls end up 4 strokes behind Mags, who takes first place Day 1. Hans/ and Fox (who did NOT have Chad Campbell in his lineup) tie for second. Day 2 My team seemed to miss as many putts as I normally do... and by one putt, my team is once again out of the money in Day 2. But the real story is the Fox's Phuckers! Even without the Tourney Leader... Chad Campbell... active on his team, he is TEN strokes ahead of the field. Amazing!!! He goes into the weekend with his entire six man team playing. Al and Mags have 5 men going... all others but Jack have 4 left, with Jack with but 3. But he has the leader, Kenny Perry... as Fox has Campbell in the shack. As for the tourney... Woods missed a ton of putts. Mickelson got hot on the back, and got himself back in the mix, as did Sergio Harrington was baffled by the rules of golf... once addessing the ball, you HAVE addressed it, and any ball movement after that (even if you walk away as he did) is a penalty. Fortunately, he knew or was advised to REPLACE the ball to its original position... it is yet another penalty if he strokes the putt from where the ball came to rest after moving. Poor Greg Norman... played so well thru 30 holes, and then makes a mental, then physical, mistake on 13 and takes DB 7 when most make 4. Goes from 1 under to 1 over... bogeys 14, and is 3 over finsish is 2 above a cut he deserved to make. Does anyone think that Campbell or Perry will win? Perry continues to shock me... but I don;t see him replacing Jack as the oldest winner of a major. SErgio, Mickelson and Ogilvy will play well over the weekend, I think.... but how about that Cabrera? He has got some skills, wow! Great short game and creativity around the greens. Gets up and hits the ball, no sweat, no nerves. He will be vEry tough to beat. I sense a double major skin coming our way, Gabes. Oh, last thing.... Gabes having two of the former Big 5... Goose and Ernie... miss the cut by a single stroke... how sweet was THAT? :-) Luv ya, Gabes. Day 3 Damn that Fox! He knobs me by a stroke and extends his lead to 11 strokes. I have a 13 stroke lead on Hans, who holds the third and final spot. Day 4 Hans smoked the field on the last day... Gabes tied me for second for the day. And Fox, while very pedestrian with six golfers going, managed to hang on for the overall win. Jack: I think you had the only guy active in the three man playoff. Bummer he bogeyed 17 and 18 to create the playoff... after going 23 holes w/o a bogey, and after what looked like the defining winning stroke on 16. But Angel made that 10 footer on 16 to stay alive... and Perry spit the bit on the last two.
