Stuart ate the Apple-by but Zach proved to be the true Tiger Slayer. It was kind of cool to have 3 of the top 5 in the Masters coming down the stretch, but as none of the DB's... Johnson, Appleby, or Sabbatini (active in Gabes' 7 man format) had ever won a Major, and they were playing against the likes of Goosen and Woods... well, I wasn't expecting much. I mean... Woods had the lead at one point, and Goosen did as well. These are guys you don't beat on the last day. But Zach was strong, and even after the bogey on 17 opened the door for bad vibes, his lovely chip to inches on 18 precluded the need for a clutch par saving putt. That put it all in Woods' lap. But he was so pedestrian at the finish! He misses the putt that Zach made for birdie on 16... plunks his second in the sand from 110 yards on 17, and I'm still swearing that the bastard is going to jug his approach on 18 for a playoff. But he's nowhere near the hole! So Zach wins... and the DBs score an impressive 46 overall. Rory was 2 , Appleby 6, Ian Poulter 13, and the fading Phil phinished 24. I suspect his closing 77 cost me low score for the year, the phat phuck. But the DBs, even without Rory, held off the six man Hans team by a single stroke... let's hear it for Appleby's up and down from the sand on 18! Jack once again took honors for the day, w/ Hans second, and Jack finishes third overall, as our 3rd round leader, Gabes, whacked it pretty good w/ a 298 and misses show money by a single whack. So Gabes... I expect a nice write up from you this week... one that gives the DBs their props... and announces that the REAL golf season started this weekend! Babs, he of the Dimpled Balls **************************************** Al I think you need to check your .xls. Several of the totals are off in the fourth round. Sobo **************************************** Thanks, Sobo, for noticing the typo in my Sum equation for the weekend results. Didn't make a BIG difference... the top two finishers remain on top, both improving by a single stroke. The REAL difference comes w/ Gabes picking up 3 strokes to Jack's one stroke, giving Gabes a one stroke win for third place. Daily winners for Sat and Sun remain unchanged... new scores and $$$ amounts are now reflected in the boxes below. Sobo, remember that entry fee was $35 this year when you net out the winnings.
