First of all, I'd like to thank Fox once again for maintaining the RotoGolf Master Spreadsheet and the Roster Management Site. His work makes managing your team simple and easy. As I've said before, I'm not sure this league would be possible without all of the things he does. Hell, CyberZahm wouldn't be the same without the CyberZahm site which he maintains. Thanks a million, Fox! As you all know, there are many different ways to win (and lose) money in RotoGolf. For that reason, this year more than any other finds seven different guys winning money. Let's get into the final numbers according to final finish rank: 1) Foreskins (Gabes) win $337.25 2) PinSeekers (Sobo) win $176.04 3) Ace Holes (Hans) win $52.38 4) Smoothies (Jack) win $76.42 plus a $40 bottle of booze from Ikey 5) Red Foxes (Fox) win $113.00 plus 6 pack of Devil Ale from Mags 6) Ball Washers (Mags) lose $322.00, but win a nice bottle of wine from Ikey, and a latte from Prep 7) Pot Bunkers (Ikey) win $73.38 8) Dimpled Balls (Al) lose $260.27 9) CLickers (Willo) win $134.00 10) Happy Hookers (Andy) lose $159.00, but win a large beer from Ikey 11) Stiff Shafts (Prep) lose $222.00 My Skins and Sobo's Seekers won the most money by finishing first and second, but our payouts would have been much greater if it wasn't for poor performances in weekly skins action and the majors side bets. Same goes for Hans. He finished third, but Jack's fourth place team actually won more because Jack's team did better in weekly skins and the majors side bets. Jack also won a $40 bottle of booze from Ikey (Jack, please arrange with Ikey shipment to your house). Fox's Red Foxes were in the last finish money spot, but he made more than Jack or Hans because his team won the low team score of the year bet with a team score of 48. Fox also won a six pack of Devil Ale from Mags (Fox, arrange to pick this up directly from Mags). Mags' team finished sixth overall, but he took the biggest pounding because his team was in red numbers across the board. His downward spiral the last two months of the season took him out of the top five money spots. Fox leap frogged him on the final day of the season to get fifth place finish money and the six pack of Devil Ale. Mags can drown his sorrows in the nice bottle of wine that Ikey owes him though, and then he can sober up and write his check over a latte that Preppy owes him (Mags, please arrange to get these gifts directly from Ikey and Prep). Ikey finished in seventh place but he actually won money because his team won 8 weekly skins (helped primarily by the triple skin that Choi won in the second to last tournament), and Ogilvy's grand slam skin at the U.S. Open. Al finished eighth and lost money. It would have been even worse for him had his team not done well in the majors side bets. Willo's Tiger led CLickers finished ninth and actually won $134.00 thanks to all of the weekly and grand slam skins that Tiger won. This brings to light the reason for a rule change that I plan to make for the 2008 draft. Beginning with the 2008 draft, the guy who loses the most money will get to pick his draft selection spot first. I want to eliminate the possibility of somebody intentionally tanking in order to get Tiger (while making no side bets and limited moves), and then sitting back and watching Tiger gobble up weekly and grand slam skins. I'm not saying that anyone has intentionally done this in the past, or that someone may intentionally do it in the future, but Tiger presents that possibility because he's the best in the game. We changed the scoring system back in 2001 because of Tiger, and I feel this rule will also be good for league integrity in the future. The goal of any rotosport should be to finish as high in the standings as possible every year. I want to give everyone one year's notice of this change (and Preppy did not have Tiger while finishing last this year). If the rule went into effect this year, then Mags would get to pick his draft spot first, but for the 2007 draft we'll continue to use the inverse order of previous year's finish to determine draft slot order. Therefore, Prep will get first choice of draft position, then Andy, then Willo, and so on. The Hookers and the Shafts finished tenth and eleventh and lost money. It would have been way worse for Andy had he not won over $129.00 in majors side bets. Andy did win something, though. Ikey owes him a large beer for losing the Kaye vs. Baddeley bet that the two of them had. Preppy's losses would also have been worse had Lefty not won him a slam skin at the Masters. Once again, congrats to all of the winners, and better luck next year to all of the losers. We'll start picking draft slot positions for the 2007 draft beginning December 1st. As always, the draft will begin on December 26th. Gabes
