Rules for CyberZahm Basketball Roto 10/9/97 [A few date changes made on 2/5] [Typo on calendar fixed 2/27] A. Draft Order We will hold a point prediction contest in early or mid October. We will select our draft position based on how well we do in this contest. Whoever does best will get first choice of draft position. Whoever is next best will get second choice. And so on. B. The draft We will draft first to last, last to first, for a total of 15 rounds. Everyone must be able to field a starting lineup of 2 centers, 4 guards, and 4 forwards. We will each also have 5 reserves. The positions that players qualify for will be determined by the player listings found at http://www.nba.com/rosterindex.html. C. Categories The categories are Total Points, Scoring Average, Field Goal Percentage, Free Throw Percentage, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocked Shots. Roto points are calculated just like for baseball. The percentage categories are calculated like the baseball batting average ... i.e. team shots made/team shots attempted. D. Starting Lineups Everyone must set their starting lineup of 2 C's, 4 F's and 4 G's by 11/5 or the day after the draft ends, whichever comes last. Just send the list to me. I'll post them. The players not in your starting lineup are your reserves. E. Replacements Between 11/5 and 2/5 you can replace up to 3 of your reserves with any "free agent". This will be first come first served, so include the date and time in your email request. Each of these replacements will cost $10. [NOTE: replacements can be made up until midnight on 2/7 -- ICC (2/5)] F. Exchanges On 12/25 you can exchange up to 3 players between your reserves and your starting lineup. Merry Christmas. Over the All-Star Break (i.e. between 2/5 and 2/8 inclusive) you can exchange up to 5 players between your reserves and your starting lineup. [NOTE: these 5 exchanges can take place between 2/5 and midnight on 2/10. -- ICC (2/5)] Between the all star break and March 4th you can exchange one more player between your reserves and your starting lineup. Exchanges cost $5 each. Note that unlike in the baseball league, when you replace somebody in your starting lineup, you replace them completely, i.e., you lose all of their stats and pick up all the stats of the replacement. G. Fees Entry $50 Replacement $10 Exchange $ 5 H. Payouts 10% To whoever is in first place at the all star break, based on the starting lineups set on 11/5 adjusted for any of the Christmas replacements 40% 5% to each of 8 category winners, based on starting lineups at the end of the year. 40% To whoever is in first place based on starting lineups at the end of the year. 10% To whoever is in second place based on starting lineups at the end of the year.
