The top ten players I wanted to draft but missed by a pick or two, or three-- 10 - Jacoby Ellsbury (Expectorators pick #30) - thought I could get him a round or so later - would have picked him instead of Cruz in Rnd 5. 9 - Brian McCann (Mazins pick #44) - First true snake of my draft. At that point I decided to abandon Catchers as a serious source of scoring points. Abandoned Catchers until the last two rounds. 8. - Tommy Hanson (Cutters #58) - wasn't ready to take a P in round 6 thought I could have gotten Hanson a little later. Stalled my first P selection. 7. - Ubaldo Jimenez (#63 Cutters) - Hans' 2nd P in a row that took my top P - pushed back my first P selection further. 6. - Gio Gonzalez (#90 Expectorators) - NOT! 5 - Carlos Marmol (Busters #95) - 2nd true snake for me- would have been my first Closer. 4. - Angel Pagan (Nuts #122) - Yes Prep, I wanted this Met - I think he'll have a big year. 3. - John Danks (Foxes #174) - hoping he would stay on the board just a bit longer- was going to be my next pick. 2 - Jose Tabata (Busters #175) - consecutive snakes- after missing out on Danks decided to make a move for Tabata- Gabes musta been looking for the SBs with some power upside with this guy too 1- Last but not least- Ricky Romero (Jackers #181) - Had Romero last year, wanted him this year. Jackers sobered up just long enough to snake me, prompting me to go for my third Closer instead. So, that's how Chaos theory works in Rotobaseball drafting. Any one of these players, if I had gotten to pick them, probably would have changed the makeup of the Bombers team significantly. For better or for worse? We'll see, but methinks the Bombers are good enough as is. Mags
