All- I hear MCI WorldCom set new usage records yesterday afternoon. A company spokesman attributed the spike to "...something about a move deadline in Cyberzahm." And while moves were made in abundance, for all the activity there was a surprising lack of major trade activity. A nominee for Ho-Hummer of the Year is the Hogman sending the Cubbies' soon-to-be named setup man Flash Gordon to the Expectorators for the missing Jim Mecir plus a move. The only other trade was a Mazins-Muckrats deal. The 'Rats sent Woody Williams and Marvin Benard east for Albie Lopez and Rhondel White. Johnny, make sure you send Andy his pants back; you bent him over good on this one. Twenty-three move requests were submitted, including the first two which exercised the new provision to reverse an earlier move at no cost. Mags tried to make up for last month's siesta by submitting four changes. Babs rolled the bones by using his last three moves; look for him to be wheelin' and dealin' next month. Prep/Mel continued their incestuous ways by claiming only players who had Twinkie or Leathernut resumes- boys, were the sheep good in Iceland? Twenty of twenty-three moves were processed; Mags, John, and Prep were all left pulling it for one selection. Most popular replacements were John Burkett, Marty Cordova, and Doug What's his name. The only team to stand pat was the Pussjackers. Can't say I blame Jack for spending more time with his golf team; I'll bet even the Strokers have better pitching than the Pusses. As always, make sure you check this; I think everything is right, but I also thought the Tamales would be contenders. The full list of requests is attached. _____________________________________________________________________ Sobo, I don't think McLemore was eligible at OF (Panza selection). If not, that would give him to me instead of Hernandez. Mags -------------------------------------------------------------------- Good catch James. Albert's trying to pull a fast one. I think we oughtta reopen the books on the last few years to see if he pulled these shenanigans before. Here's the deal. McLemore only qualifies at 2B. Albert's request says "replace JPayton with McLemore". Payton is in the Panza's outfield. Now, while its true that Albert could manage to make this replacement by shifting several players around (I'm trusting position guru Sobo on this) he did not include this as part of his request. See rule E7. Gary, please repost the moves with the appropriate changes. Albert, please send me a check that covers all your winnings for the last 5 years; I'll hold it arrears (I have no idea what that means) until we can sort this out. --------------------------------------------------------------- All- Given the Almighty ICC's decision, here is the revised list of moves. the net impact is Mags gets McLemore, Al gets Trammel for for Payton not Surhoff, and retains Surhoff on his active roster, saving a move. Of course, with Albert's luck, BJ will be Player of the Month in June and Mclemore will go on the DL with his pulled groin. Some things never change......
