The draft results as I see it.

Day 1 - Pick of the day- Pedro Numero Uno.  Surprising, but if the guy
is that important to the 'Nuts then it was good to take him. He never
would have made it back. Next surprise- John goes for Kendall in round 2
after taking Piazza in round 1.  John spent all of last year preaching
to me about his Catcher theory- take part-timers who won't kill you with
500 at bats.  But he did get the second and third best catchers in
baseball.

Premature picks: Rolen, Kerry Wood, Mike Hampton, Luis Gonzalez, Phil
Nevin, Jose Canseco, Rusty Greer, Doug Glanville,  Jay Bell, Derek Bell,
Dave Bell, Richie Sexson, Brady Anderson, Steve Parris, Rick Ankiel, and
(possibly) my pick of Lieberthal.  The prize goes to the aMazin Kerry
Wood.  Big gamble.

Most predictable picks:  Fox - Cirillo, JD Drew
                                     Al - Ricky and Leiter
                                     Sobo- Barrett (although I knew he
was drooling over Nevin) and Daal
                                     Willo- anyone from Kansas City

The handicap sheet:

Leathernuts:  Glacial till, Pitching won't do it. Mags Ordonez will be
disoriented on this team. Raul's a fool. This team needs more than
Stairs to climb.

Pinstripes:  Sinkholes.  Will sink fast.  Lame outfield (and not just
Lofton), Bush-league infield (except A-Rod). Hampton in Round 2?!?  Id'
be PO'd if I had Pavano too.

Ballbusters:  Volcanic debris, hot at first, collapses in a pile later.
Loves the name Hernandez.  Will never say Nevin again.  What's a
Trachsel?  Even my Ps are better.

Hogmen: Subducted slabs.  Like tornadoes, seems overly fond of Kansas.
Still looking for a Catcher, and a place for Burrell to play. Duped by
the scoop on Rupe.

Mazins:  Cosmic dust.  Like meteors from space, low-probability of
impact on this planet.  Too many Yankees and lame players on this team.
Ponson and Timlin.  Flotsam and jetsam.

Muckrats:  Mudders. They'll get stuck in the muck.  Daring pitching
strategy, but has to wait the entire year to see if it works. I say it
won't.  His Bell won't ring and Justice won't prevail.

Invincibles: Conglomeration of powerless pebbles. Chipper can carry the
Braves, but not this team. A Big Unit on P and a lot of small units to
back him up.

Tamales: Wildcat dry-holes.  A Feeble infield, and a late-round
outfield.  No enchilada here.  Tamales will be Rocked.

Foxes: A faulty bunch.  Be true to Drew will result in another screw.
Fick will have trouble with the stick and the pitching is headed for the
Dempster. Another Bell with a bad clangor.  Needs a hot-link to
trade-central.

PussJackers- Unconformities in this formation.  Misread the phrases
"Don't take" Bichette,  "Piss-stacio", and "I'll take Paris". A Petite
excuse for offense.  Rookie.

Panzas - Petrified wood.  Has some big guns, but won't be Easley winning
with this offense.  Prefers players whose names end with "a".  Needs to
set Guzman loose, Man.  Will be playing cards in the clubhouse with
Ricky.

Nuzzahs - Gems. Flawless symmetry. Pitching just good enough to throw
the rest of y'all a curve and Strike it rich.  Another masterpiece to
marvel at.  Save the applause, just send money.
