All - It's hard to imagine that it was only a week ago that we were all enjoying the warm weather of Vegas, cool breezes from the casino airconditioning and refreshing tastes of the juices while relaxing in the Spa and poolside. Two years of planning and anticipation (great job Gabes), four days of one hellava good time, and poof, its over. but we still have some great memories.... The Mirage was excellent. Lots of hotels to choose from, and it is hard to believe that we would get the same quality and amenities at a better price, not to mention location. Sobo, sharing a room - just like old times. and your snoring only woke me up once. I agree with Al's comments that the Spa was a suprise benefit that I hadn't planned on. Kinda nice sweating out the poisons from the night before, and replenishing them with your choice of juices. So far I havent contracted any disease from the public whirlpools.....maybe thats why they distract you with beverages. The Paiute course sure was long. Andy, are you sure you didnt get the superintendent to fix the tees so we'd have to go from the tips? reminded me of Andystock. Thank god I kept the ball in the fairway most of the day, and my putter didnt desert me the way it did on Thursday. Al - based on your earlier note, you should consider changing your preparation schedule. You kicked my ass on Thursday, and then a different golfer showed up Friday. I'm sure that when you get me at Myrtle Beach, it will be a different story. Andy - thanks for the great pictures. I liked the one with the scores the best. Gambling was the prime time attraction, and it was hard to tell who won and who lost. I had two memorable times : the couple of hours when our group took over the Blackjack table prior to dinner - great laughs, and the time I had the dice for nearly a half hour, and helped myself, Gabes and Fox build our bankrolls. Gabes, you were right, as much fun as that was, I was waay too serious. If only there was a way to duplicate that...... Fox - did you end up bringing the Sports Book to it's knees? After a hot start, I know you cooled down a little bit - hopefully not too much. Did anyone else get money down on the Ryder Cup singles matches? I had 4 winners, including Monte. We'll see how long it takes for the casino to mail back my winnings. Other random memories - the Rio is the action spot. I feel reallll old. The Italian restaurant was great - but whats with the French waiter? (thanks for the wine, Dave) Sorry I missed the cab ride from Hell - but loved the stories... The Belagio is overkill in decadent. I would rate Shannon, the poolside barmaid, as one of the top 5 women in Vegas, where there is plenty of competition. One of the more interesting jobs has to be the security guard outside the elevators from 1AM to 5AM. Nick the Blackjack pitboss was a good guy. Hans
