As my Chicago-bound United flight went wheels up around 6:40 pm Vegas time on Sunday night a tear hit my eye as I realized that the event I had looked forward to for two years was now history. Within a second though, the tear was gone and a grin hit my face as my mind began to play back hundreds of wonderful and memorable moments that I'm sure will be chronicled in the days to come by those who attended. Some of us may have walked away from the gaming tables as winners and some as losers, but I think all will agree that the experience of being together for another great reunion makes all of us richer today. A million thanks to Sobo for organizing a great golf outing on the Paiute range; to Hans for the sleeve of golf balls, drinks at Paiute after he cleaned all of our clocks, and for working the Mirage staff to get us some comp's; to Mags for making sure that we had great wine with each meal; to Dave for buying us three terrific bottles of wine at Piero's even though he couldn't be there to enjoy it; to Fox for his "How to clean up in the sports book" seminar and the near death experience he talked me in to at Caesar's last Thursday; to Prep for being the midwestern dispenser of sociability and puns; to Al for showing me that even good golfers get crushed on world class desert courses; to the Friday night cab driver who gave me as hard a laugh as I've had in years; and finally, to Andy for being Andy. Dave, John, Willo, Ikey, Jack, Reb and Terry Mac, you were missed but not forgotten. Here's hoping you'll be able to make the next CyberZahm reunion. As I said after Pengilly last year, these reunions are special quality time spent with special quality people. Make 'em if at all possible! Gabes
